This role sits within the Human Resources team which comprises of 30 people specialists based in our London, Manchester and Cardiff offices, working closely together to provide excellent employment conditions for the firm’s people, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle. |
Reporting to the Reward Manager, you will help shape, enhance and deliver the firm’s reward strategy and programmes, ensuring we remain competitive within the legal market. The role will involve extensive stakeholder management and communication at all levels and provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Reward Specialist to join a progressive environment and contribute in a meaningful way to making positive changes within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a Reward subject matter expert and provide support and guidance to the wider HR team, employees and partners on all Reward polices, pensions and employee benefits.
- Support the Reward Manager to deliver the Rewards strategy.
- Create, update, and maintain compensation documentation including the intranet and benefits portal, ensuring effective communication.
- As directed by the Reward Manager, manage, and ensure ongoing review of designated aspects of the firm’s reward and benefits packages and programmes, including pension, insured and other core and voluntary benefit schemes.
- Continuously review and documents reward processes and make recommendations for improvements to ensure efficiency and enhance the employee journey.
- Oversee the Reward inbox and be an escalation point of contact for employee benefits-related queries, ensuring clear and timely responses.
- Undertake research on reward and benefits-related issues, ensuring that the firm maintains a competitive offering.
- Work with the Reward Manager on the design and delivery of an effective Reward and Benefits communication plan.
- Ensure all reward practices comply with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support audits, reporting, and governance reviews related to reward policies, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Benefits
- Manage the firm’s portfolio of benefits and manage and maintain relationships with benefit providers.
- Support with the employee and Partner benefits annual renewal processes.
- Work with the Reward Manager to enhance internal communications to the wider business.
- Support the Reward Manager to develop and launch new reward programs.
- Manage the pension auto enrolment processes.
- Manage Risk insurances claims.
Compensation
- Undertake salary survey submissions and benchmarking analysis for the UK and international job roles and provide market data for new roles.
- Support the Reward Manager and HRBPs with the firm’s annual salary review and bonus process including analytical support.
- Liaise with the wider HR and Finance teams, collaborate efficiently with stakeholders throughout the process.
Projects
- Support and lead on a variety of ad-hoc reward-related projects throughout the year, from concept to delivery.
Person specification
- Relevant experience in a reward and benefits role within a professional services organisation (ideally legal).
- Strong understanding of reward principles, including salary structures, bonus schemes, pensions and benefits.
- Experience of managing multiple Reward projects, simultaneously, in a large professional services environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical/numeracy and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data.
- High level awareness of GDPR and data governance.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems.
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to think on your feet to identify and solve potential issues collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and in various formats, with experience of bringing people together to achieve shared outcomes.
- Proactive, able to work on own initiative with flexibility and to research independently.
- Flexibility to travel between offices where necessary.
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Excellent team player, able to build great relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
Academic Achievements/Specialist Skills
- CIPD qualification (desirable).
- Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and best practice (essential).
- Previous experience in reward and benefits administration within professional services (essential).
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including prior use of document management systems and advanced Excel Skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables, Macros) including the ability to manipulate data and produce statistical information (essential).
